Walmart MoneyCard offers a convenient and secure way to manage your money. Managing money is even easier with features like direct deposit, free cash deposits, and mobile check deposits.

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit is a popular and convenient way to add money to your Walmart MoneyCard. Direct deposit can automatically deposit your paycheck, government benefits, or tax refund onto your card. This cuts the need to wait for a check to arrive in the mail or make a trip to the bank to deposit it. Plus, with direct deposit, your money is available on your card up to two days early¹.

If you want to set up direct deposit, give your Walmart MoneyCard account and routing numbers to your employer or benefits provider and let them know if you want all or part of your pay deposited to your Walmart MoneyCard. You can find this information by logging into your account online or through the mobile app. Once set up, your funds will be automatically deposited onto your card on your designated payday.

Cash Deposits

Did you know adding cash to your account is as easy as a single swipe of your card? With your Walmart MoneyCard in hand, go to any Associate register or MoneyCenter and tell them how much you'd like to deposit into your account, between $20-$1,000. Hand the associate your cash deposit plus the $3 deposit fee, and your deposit will be reflected in your account within 10 minutes².

Don't want to pay the deposit fee? No problem! Cash deposits are free at Walmart when you create a deposit barcode in the Walmart MoneyCard app; and you don’t need your card in hand. Simply generate the deposit barcode in the app, take your cash to any Customer service desk or MoneyCenter, have the Associate scan your barcode and hand them your cash deposit. Your deposit will be reflected in your account within 10 minutes².

If you don't use the app, you can still add cash to your card; there is just a small fee for this service. Here, you can find the closest Walmart to you.

Transfer Money

Move money to or from another linked bank account, or use our Online Bill Pay Service to set-up a one-time or recurring payment at no cost³. With just a few taps in the app, you can transfer money to your Walmart MoneyCard from another linked bank account as long as you have an activated, personalized card.

Simply log into your account, select the "Transfer Money" option, and follow the prompts to complete the transfer. This allows you to conveniently add money to your Walmart MoneyCard without needing physical checks or cash.

Mobile Check Deposit

With Walmart MoneyCard's mobile check deposit feature, you can deposit checks directly onto your card using your smartphone⁴. Simply take a photo of the front and back of your check, enter the amount, and submit. Your funds will be available on your card within minutes.

To use mobile check deposit, download the Walmart MoneyCard mobile app and log into your account. Select the "Deposit Check" option and follow the prompts to complete your deposit. It's a quick and easy way to add money to your card.
